Since 1965

Peikko was founded in Finland, Northern Europe, back in 1965 by Mr. Jalo Paananen and manufacturing was started in a vacant barn (pics above). The first product at that time was a diagonal tie used in sandwich wall elements. This product is still part of Peikko product mix. At present the company is owned and managed by the second generation of the family with the dedication for the founder's entrepreneurial spirit.

Peikko

The original name of the company was "Teräspeikko" (Steel Troll in English). That is where the little creature in company logo comes from.  It resembles a Finnish, humorous view of troll (peikko), a creature very common to Finnish fairy tales, living in forests.

 50 Decades

Peikko was focusing on serving mainly Finnish customers in the 60's, 70's and 80's. The first steps of internationalization were taken in 1990's with establishing sales offices to Germany (1997), Norway (1999) and Sweden (2001). By 2011 there were sales and technical suport offices in 30 countries. Modern main manufacturing units are located in four countries and regional factories in additional five countries.
