Last year, Peikko reorganized and strengthened its Product Development teams. Product launches during 2019 included PSB® PLUS, a new punching shear load application used in cast-in-situ construction and TWIN® Corbel, an innovative corbel for heavy precast products.

In March 2019 Peikko purchased various products rights from a Swiss company Spaeter AG. The purchase included an engineering office and a factory situated in Hungary. Since the acquisition the EBEA® Balcony Connector sales have started well and Peikko estimates significant volume growth in the coming years.

In late 2019, Peikko introduced DELTABEAM® Green, one of the first structural steel products made from more than 90% of recycled steel. The first projects using DELTABEAM® Green are already being delivered.

Peikko’s total investments in 2019 continued at a very high level and amounted to EUR 20.7 million (MEUR 20 in 2018). The same year, Peikko also started an Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP, project, with the intention to roll-out a Microsoft’s D365 operating system throughout the company by 2022. First rollouts of the new system are planned for summer 2020.

"In year 2019 Peikko’s business stabilized in a high volume level. This year, our only target is to stay healthy in the downturn by adjusting our organization and costs according to available volumes. Our balance sheet is solid, and we have 55 years of experience with multiple downturns in our genes. We will make a path to walk through this one, too," says Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
