Peikko has supplied Gravity Foundation Technology for the Joukhaisselkä Wind Park, located in Sodankylä area, Northern Finland. The project consists of nine wind turbines manufactured by Vestas with a hub height of 120 meters.

Peikko deliveries comprise Anchor cage, Headed Studs and Peikko’s Special Foundation Reinforcement. Peikko is also responsible for the foundation design and structural calculations.  When both reinforcement and design are supplied by the same company, the quality control becomes easier and site work faster. The total construction time is reduced by using Peikko's solutions.

The project has been subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedure and a partial master plan, on the basis of which the building permit is granted in summer 2013. Fortum and Metsähallitus have sold their Joukhaisselä wind power project to Impax New Energy II Fund, an English investment company. By the end of 2014, 9 wind farms are being built in the area.
