It will be its third factory worldwide and is scheduled to open in 2022. Lumon is a family-owned international group focused on the design, sale, production, and installation of frameless balcony and terrace façade products.
The factory will be built on a plot of more than 25,000 m². It will have a built-up area of about 15,000 m² distributed over two floors and an office building. In addition, it will have a storage area and areas for loading and unloading.
In this project, Peikko collaborated from the initial stage with Coframar Engineering, offering its technical support for the calculation and design of the bolted connections for the precast columns. The use of Peikko's bolted connections was chosen because it reduces costs and lead times significantly, as well as providing total safety on site. Peikko's HPKM® column shoes and HPM® anchor bolts are CE marked and have the European Technical Assessment ETA, which guarantees the properties and technical performance of these products.
In addition, Peikko DELTABEAM® Composite Beams were used in one area of the factory to significantly reduce the height of the floor that occurred with traditional precast concrete beams. Peikko's Technical Department provided full support for this solution as well. DELTABEAM® are particularly suitable in combination with hollow core slabs to make the construction process faster, safer, and more efficient. In addition, the fire protection integrated inside the beam means that no further treatment is required on site.
This Peikko solution is also CE marked and has been successfully tested and approved by many Technical Institutions.
